The representative of the HAMI attended the regional workshop “Mini-Basics of International Humanitarian Response (BIHR)” organized by the UNHCR Regional Centre for Emergency Preparedness in Bangkok. This workshop provided a comprehensive overview of current international standards and approaches during the preparedness and response phases of humanitarian emergencies—whether caused by armed conflict, human rights violations, or natural disasters. This event, attended by representatives of non-governmental organizations from ten countries (Bangladesh, India, Iran, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, the Philippines, and the Solomon Islands), was designed to be highly interactive and participatory, featuring hands-on skills practice, role plays, and extensive group work. Participants had the opportunity to assess their own capacities and, with the aim of strengthening emergency response capabilities and collaboration, familiarize themselves with the existing approaches of partner organizations.
