As Corona crises continue these days and becomes a series threat to Iranian vulnerable Hami combat against the virus is running hopefully. This endeavor is on the frontlines specially for immigrants and refugee families . In this regard HAMI support and relief section started a campaign to prepare some essential packages for these families in Mashad and Jannat Abad centers
While NGOs such as HAMI have well-established outreach and reliable community-level networks, channeling of international assistance has been so minimal that HAMI’s potentials has remained untouched. Nonetheless, HAMI swiftly tapped into its resources in order to better facilitate Afghan community’s access to services.
It is worth mentioning that HAMI currently has active presence in four provinces Tehran, Qom, Semnān and Khorāsān Razavi through its main office in Tehran and Psychosocial Support Centers in the rest which function as a social hub for the Afghan communities in said locations. All the said provinces host very large Afghan communities.
To date, HAMI has tried to shed light on the Afghans situation in Iran amid the crisis through a number of documents submitted to international and regional colleagues as a means of advocacy to absorb more support for COVID-19 response in Iran.
HAMI’s effort could be divided into two categories each encompassing a list actions taken to partially shoulder the burden while trying to absorb more regional and international support for the response in a country that is both hosting a very large refugee, documented and undocumented migrant worker community and is at the same time suffering economically due to unfair and unilateral economic sanctions that is now threating the health and well-being of both Iranians and Afghans living in Iran.
we share with you some of this efforts through some photos.
