Breast cancer is the most commonly experienced cancer among women. Its high rates of incidence and survival mean that a number of women will live it for periods of their lifetimes. Group differences in breast cancer incidence and mortality occur by race and ethnicity.

Prevention and treatment of cancer and AIDS depend on knowledge of its determinants and their interplay. Arguably, social determinants have received less attention than have  individual health behaviors. HAMI provides and looks for awareness of some diseases in health workshops. AIDS and breast cancer are among the issues that have been less discussed in the refugee and immigrant community.

In these courses, about thirty women from the marginal neighborhoods of Mashhad were able to get acquainted with the concepts of personal health along with awareness about AIDS and breast cancer. These courses were highly welcomed by the local community
