A group of 12 students with different majors were visiting Iran as part of an exchange program of Eastern vision for university students worldwide to learn about Iran’s history, ancient and contemporary heritages, culture, religion, art and social issues among others. Their main objective to visit HAMI NGO was to learn more about the refugees and migrants in Iran, NGOs’ activities and type of services HAMI NGO provides for Afghan children.
The visit started with a short introduction on HAMI and its activities, background of Afghans’ movement to Iran, similarities in history, language and religion as well as services have been provided for refugees and migrants in Iran during last 4 decades. The group visited children at their classrooms, offered some cookies and gifts to children, and answered to their questions on their country, its’ location on the map, neighbors, language, cultures, foods and hobbies children at their age have in Hong-Kong.
At the end, the group visited the exhibition of students’ handicrafts which took place at a corner of the center and they also joined children’s wood carving class and enjoyed working together.
