The new place for HAMI Education Center for Afghan Children in Semnan province have opened on 14th March 2016 with presence of official delegates from Semnan Red Crescent Society and local Governor and HAMI CEO.
Simultaneously the Comprehensive Center for Social Services for Afghan refugee in Semnan with support of HAMI and Semnan Red Crescent was initiated. In this meeting the issue of protecting women and children’s right especially disadvantage children and vulnerable Afghan refugee community was stressed.
At the beginning of the ceremony after the recitation of Holy Quran, head of HAMI center in Semnan had a brief report on HAMI activities in Semnan and its achievements in different fields such as mental health counseling, social workers and education. She also informed about HAMI’s close collaboration with the Red Crescent Society in the form of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under the title the providing social services for refugees.
In the following HAMI CEO also presented a report on HAMI’s activities about serving refugees while emphasizing on Supreme Leader’s decree about the right of schooling for all Afghan children in Iran and possible ways to implement this decree. At the end, because the New Year was approaching, some gifts were distributed amongst pupils.
